| Reducing the Symptoms of Menopause
For years, physicians prescribed estrogen replacement therapy to help calm the unpleasant side-effects of menopause, including hot flashes, irritability, insomnia and irregular periods. That all changed in 2002, when multiple studies concluded that the use of estrogen by women during menopause significantly increased their potential for breast cancer. Since then, few alternatives have been available to reduce these symptoms, outside of alternative medicine.
Acupuncture calms the symptoms of menopause and brings the body back into balance.
Menopause is a transitional process which can cause the body to become out-of-balance. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for menopause symptoms, because it stimulates the body to release certain hormones and chemicals that can reduce pain, calm the nervous system and regulate the endocrine system, and bring the body back into balance.
