| Back Pain
Almost 60% of people will experience back pain at some point in their lives. The majority of these episodes will resolve with rest and conservative treatment within a matter of weeks. Sometimes, however, back pain persists or worsens despite treatment with western medicine.
Acupuncture has been known to be effective for treatment for low back pain for 2000 years throughout the world and recognized in the United States since the 1800's. Recently, this non-invasive, non-painful technique has increased in popularity. According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), pain is due to an abnormal flow of energy. Acupuncture can physically help reduce muscle spasm and pain in the low back. More importantly, acupuncture can help reduce the pain signals being sent to the brain providing the patient with fast, effective pain relief allowing a return to everyday activities.
